The complete 2017 American Heritage Schedule was released today by American Bucking Bull Inc. (ABBI). The annual ABBI event, produced by Two Bulls, will be held in Duncan, Okla. from June 8-10 at the Stephens County Expo Arena. This is the largest ABBI Futurity event of the regular season with the winning Futurity animal typically taking home close to $100,000 for first.
Bull check-in will be on Thursday, June 8 at 10am and go until 2pm. There will be a mandatory meeting for all stock contractors at 3pm at the arena. ABBI will host a dinner and Calcutta for members and their families at 6pm.
“We want this event to be a time of fun and fellowship for our members,” stated Executive Director Jay Daugherty. “We know our members come from coast-to-coast to compete here so we tried to provide them with as many events as possible, held within a manageable timeframe, as well as functions where they could just enjoy themselves and catch up with old friends.”
The action will get underway June 9 beginning with the Yearling Futurity at 9am. It will be followed by the Junior Futurity and then the Cowgirl’s Futurity. A lunch break will be at the conclusion of the Ladies Event, at approximately 11am. The Limited and Open Futurities will start at 1pm. There will be a dinner at 6pm courtesy of D&H Cattle Co. followed by their annual D&H Yearling Sale at 7pm.
Saturday, June 10 will be a day of American Heritage Futurity action which will kick-off at 9am. At noon will be a lunch break and the bulls will resume bucking at 2pm. ABBI estimates the AH Futurity will wrap up at 5pm and awards will then be presented to the top finishers. The final event of the weekend will be a Derby that begins at 6:30 and should conclude about 8pm.
Entry fees will be as follows: Junior / Cowgirls Futurity - $500, Yearling / Limited / Open Futurity - $800, Derby - $1,600. All entry fees include the additional bonus purse fee. Contact the ABBI office at 719-242-2747 for questions or further information.
