PUEBLO, Colo. (May 6, 2016)- American Bucking Bull Inc. (ABBI) and United Bucking Bulls Inc. (UBBI) announced today that for the first time ever they will co-sanction an Open Futurity together at the upcoming ABBI American Heritage event in Duncan, Okla.
"This is a historic event," explained ABBI Executive Director Jay Daugherty. "ABBI and UBBI are working together to create as many ways for folks in our industry to make money and qualify for our respective Finals events. We believe that, regardless if members compete with us or UBBI, the more chances people have to compete- the better it is for our sport. "
The Futurity will take place during the American Heritage weekend June 9-11 at Stephens County Arena. The Open Class will be held Friday, June 10.
“We’re excited to be a part of the ABBI’s American Heritage weekend. The ABBI/UBBI co-sanctioned Open Futurity will give our members an opportunity to earn ABBI points and UBBI qualifier dollars toward qualifying for both the ABBI and UBBI Year-End Finals!” said Randy Schmutz, UBBI General Manager.
American Heritage is one of the most lucrative events each season for young 2-year-old bulls and attracts hundreds of young bulls amongst all the various divisions. In ABBI's regular Futurity class, first place typically pays around $100,000. The payout for the Open Class will depend on the number of entries received. This will be a key event for both ABBI and UBBI members looking to qualify for each organizations prestigious World Finals.
Members should enter through the ABBI. Members of both organizations have the option of joining the other one, so points/earnings can potentially count toward the Finals qualifications for both ABBI and UBBI.You may also check the organization’s websites for more information and deadlines: AmericanBuckingBull.com and UnitedBuckingBulls.com.
