PUEBLO, Colo. (Oct. 17, 2016)-American Bucking Bull Inc. (ABBI) is proud to announce the formation of American Fighting Bull Registry (AFBR). This will be a DNA registry for the bloodlines of freestyle fighting cattle.
“The popularity of freestyle bullfighting has exploded,” explained ABBI Executive Director Jay Daugherty. “Just as ABBI documents the bloodline of bucking bulls, we realized they need for freestyle fighting bulls to have their own registry as well.”
The genetic markers and process for testing fighting cattle are the same for bucking cattle, making it an easy process for stock contractors.
“Just as there are superstar bucking bulls, we anticipate there being superstars of the fighting bull world as well as that sport continues to grow,” said Daugherty. “With PBR’s involvement with Ultimate Freestyle Bullfighting (UFB), the sport will only get bigger and better and we want to able to ensure the authenticity of the bloodlines of these phenomenal athletes and their offspring.”
American Bucking Bull Inc. is the world’s leading bucking cattle DNA registry with over 191,000 animals. In terms of sheer numbers among cattle registries of all types, ABBI ranks third. ABBI also runs American Bucking Horse Registry (ABHR). Both ABBI and ABHR pay out bonuses to the top registered bucking bulls, bareback horses and broncs at the WNFR each year. ABBI and ABHR also pay out bonuses to the PRCA’s top animals of the regular season. Visit AmericanBuckingBull.com to learn more.
