PUEBLO, Colo. (Dec. 13, 2016)- American Bucking Bull Inc. (ABBI) will hold eight Big Tex Classic bull competitions in conjunction with Professional Bull Riders (PBR) elite tour, the Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS), in 2017.
The BFTS events that will feature Classics are: Oklahoma City, Kansas City, Little Rock, Sioux Falls, Tulsa, Thackerville, Springfield and Austin.
“Any event we do with the PBR is a great opportunity for our young bulls to receive national exposure,” said Jay Daugherty, ABBI Executive Director. “It also makes for an exciting events for fans to get to see these rising stars of the bucking bull world competing at 3 and 4 years of age. Bushwacker, Bruiser, Pearl Harbor and Long John all came out of our Classic system and it really is neat to get to watch the talent that develops as these young bulls face off against the best bull riders in the world.”
ABBI also announced the estimated payouts for the Classic World Finals in Las Vegas. The prize money for first remains at $200,000, with the money for second and third places increasing in 2017. The second place finisher will get $100,000 and third will take home $50,000.
“We listened to our members and realize that even after two rounds of Classic competition in Las Vegas, sometimes less than a point can separate first from second. We decided the prize purse needed to be higher to reward the reserve champion and our third place finisher,” said Daugherty.
